![2012 mindset 5 tips 2012 mindset 5 tips Tips For Your 2012 : The Power of Your Mind [Part 4]](http://www.tristanlewis.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/2012-mindset-5-tips.jpg)
I have always been a big believer in the power of intentions and the benefit in life of having faith in yourself and belief in your ability to achieve whatever you want.
No I am not one of those people who will throw all this ‘mind stuff’ at you. I have read loads and been around many people who will tell anyone who listens how incredible the movie’The Secret’ is – and that’s all good. But what I believe and try to live my life by and importantly try to structure into my life is allwoing myself to think positive- rather than negative.
*Check out a great book called ‘The Magic Story’. Worth your time.
Now for anything from gertting the best body ever to just being plain happy with yourself and your life. it all begins with our state of mind.
Yes sometimes we will falter, we’ll feel sorry for ourselves or we’ll forget the principles to always remember that our mind controsl everything we have in life.
But the results won’t be acheived overnight, our journey is a lifetime journey and along the way we must trust our own ability to mentall control our destiny and get what we want out of every aspect of our lives.
Here’s my 5 tips. (I actually could give 105!)
All the best to you,
Cheers and I know 2012 will be unbelievable for you.
—————-
Tip 1 – Remember its us who is the driver no circumstance. – What you think is what will eventually unfold. Let your thoughts stay focused an positive and when something comes along that might not be what you want, just treat it as a stepping stone on the path to a greater achievement. Screw circumstances. They are just lessons. use them.
Tip 2 – confidence – Be confidant in who you are, what you’ve got and where you are going. No one is like you and nothing can stop you. After all, whats the point of being you if your not confidant that your totally unique and offer something no oneelse can offer. That alone should make you confidant.
Tip 3 - Share the love – You get what you give. Remember that those days you’ve felt like the world was beating your arse are the same feelings others have. Be a cool person and have an understanding ear, watch out for your fellow man and try to count to 10 when someone flips you off at the light. no this is not all ‘lovee-dovee crap’ this is reality. Are you big enough to handle it and take the higher ground, showing compassion and restrain then offering support and love to others. Or do you need to show your hero status by being an asshole? A big man puts his arm around his brothers. A weak man beats people down – physically and emotionally.
Tip 4 – Faith to let go – sometimes its just too much hassle to try to force the outcome…I mean, when all is said and done, its sometimes best to just trust a higher power to take care of your business. Phewww.
Tip 5 – Believe in yourself. When all is said and done, if you don’t think you can do it. you’re right. There is no reason you cannot do anything at all you set your mind to. Step up and take on any challenge that comes your way. Because if it comes your weay, it was meant to be completed and beaten and will make you a better person. You’ll grow as a human and reach higher goals everytime…

Do it.

Well its New Year’s Eve. at least here in Colorado USA. Some of you will be celebrating now and others will be celebrating a brand new year in a few hours. Either way I wish you the best year ever and hope 2012 is your year!
Here i wanted to give you my 5 Diet Tips for 2012. I hope they are of use to you
Happy New Year!
Cheers

Tip 1 – Eat more vegetables and fruit. I know I sound like your mum right? Well its so simple yet so under appreciated. You should increase your vegetable intake by at least 50%! More of course if you currently only eat a spoonful of peas a month! today in our fast paced lifestyle we are so dependant or tempted by the fast foods and high sugar / high carb foods that contain little to no nutrition that we get full, don’t consider the healthy choices and our vegetable and fruit intake just drops and drops. so add lots of different fruits and veggies…and steam them, they are great like that. Or better yet, eat your veggies raw!
Tip 2 – Hydrate!!! (again!) drink at least one or two full 8oz glasses of water at each meal (as well as throughout the day) – can never be said enough!
Tip 3 – Don’t be scared of carbs, simply go for the healthier ones like brown rice and yams, sweet potatoes etc… oh and try my ‘carb slide approach’ – eat most of your carbs in the early hours of the day and substitute them for vegetables from 3pm onward. Keep Protein intake high.
Tip 4 – Don’t go stupid! what I mean is don’t be a slave to your diet. Once a week, preferably the day before a big workout, eat anything you want. Yep – anything. This kicks your body into fat burning mode! the workout the following day will be the bestyou have and you’ll also have eliminated a build up of days and weeks of cravings…just eat what you want. But only once a week.
Tip 5 – Continual Feeding/grazing. I still believe and stand by the fact that eating every 2 hours, even a handful of almonds or fruit etc is the way to go. three meals is fine but I like to keep things ticking over by eating every two hours, no not big meals, but a small snack. not junk food either.
Oh and also, you can eat after 8pm, just not a big meal…go for a handful of almonds, greek yoghurt, etc etc…something satisfying but not carb heavy.
There you go. back soon with part 4: Mindset.

Welcome to part 2 – and the 5 health tips for 2012.
These 5 will help you look at health differently and are going to be huge benefits in your new start to the new year.
Tip 1 – Water consumption MUST go up, up up! Ok you’ve likely heard the old adage about around 8 X 8oz glasses of water a day? Well I think that is minimum, especially if you are working out intensely.
Your body needs water more than anything else you can put in your mouth! But so many times people don’t bother. They work out, sweat and then maybe sip a sports drink or even worse a soda or fizzy drink etc.
Simply put you need to constantly hydrate.
Try setting a timer as you work and every 15 mins have a sip from a big bottle of water next to you.
Try to also finish the water they give you at a restaurant. it not just there for looks ![]()
Tip 2 – The old classic…Sleep. You need to sleep and its gets even more important as you get older. At least 8 hours a night will do you the most good, maybe 7. Your body repairs and recovers in sleep so make sure you give your body a chance. Also try to limit any light sources. Bright led alarm clocks or night lights can actually affect the quality of your sleep. You should try to sleep in as near to pitch black as possible.
Tip 3 – Get outside! Its a fact that in our society today most people are getting too little sun. Sun actually increases valuable and highly beneficial vitamin D in our bodies. This vitamin is a true miracle vitamin. Helping everything from weight loss to mental mood / depression etc. Studies showed that suicide rates in Europe during winter time when it is notoriously darker earlier actually went up. So get out, allow yourself to get your skin a little pink and exposed (don’t burn of course) and reap the benefits.
Tip 4 – Chill out. I know some people will say ‘how can I chill out? I have kids, work, a job, a list of chores a mile long….blah blah. I’ve seen and know some of the busiest people who also live a life that seems like the most laid back and relaxed. And it all comes down to prioritising and actually telling yourself you NEED to relax and find time for yourself or your health WILL suffer. Get out on dates, go do outdoors things …just do things for yourself and don’t feel guilty. You need to understand the value of relaxation for both your sanity and your healthy fit body and mind.
Tip 5 – Don’t overtrain. For an average person – if they train with the correct intensity – they can train 3-4 times a week, for around 30 minutes a time and get incredible results (with a sensible diet and also regular hydration and the right type of workouts/training) – of course you can do more if thats your thing, but I can’t hear anymore about people having no time. You make time and you find time and you commit. Its not the hardest thing in the world. At least your alive to try. So put it in properly for 3- 4 intense workouts a week and let your body rest in between. Overtraining will affect many things from your body fat levels to your mental well being.
Cheers and I’ll be back with part 3 very soon.

Sometimes I stumble upon a quote that just …resonates.
I truly believe this can and will resonate with you.
Peace to you and yours and all the best of everything for 2012 and beyond…
He who has conquered doubt and fear has conquered failure. Doubt has killed more splendid projects, shattered more ambitious schemes, strangled more effective geniuses, neutralized more superb efforts, blasted more fine intellects, thwarted more splendid ambitions than any other enemy of the human race.”

Well 2012 is nearly with us. I know that with the holidays here we’re all slammed right now getting ready to celebrate with our friends and family – good for us! But of course, following on nicely after this EVERY year is the stepping into a new year and a desire to make it the best yet for ourselves… The resolutions are set and typically these include getting in the best shape ever. Well its a new start and therefore I wanted to give you my 5 Big Tips for your 2012 covering Exercise/Workout Tips, Health Tips, Diet & nutrition Tips & Mindset Tips. So lets kick off with part A – Exercise!
Ok, there are a million different tips flying around the Internet, the gym, Facebook, your local health club and so on…
But here are 5 I feel are essential and will give you the best results if understood and used in your workouts.
I hope you like these, let me know your thoughts.
Cheers,
Tris
TIP 1 – Its been said a thousand times (by me and others I know) but to burn the most calories you must do COMPOUND exercises. These are exercises that require multiple muscles to work together during the move. don’t get me wrong, isolation exercises where typically one muscle is worked like the bicep curl for example a re great as part of your workout but compound exercises like kettlebell swings, Thrusters, Deadlifts, Squats, Pull Ups etc etc are the ones that will have the greatest benefit on your body and fitness results.
TIP 2 – Slow down! A typical exercise should be performed with control – allowing you to work on a pattern of 2-1-3 (basically 2 seconds concentric – 1 second isometric – 3 seconds essentric) – or to put it simply lets imagine a squat move; I like to squat down to the lowest position for 3 seconds, hold at the bottom for a second then explode up but control my move to the start position for 2-3 seconds. This is controlled. If your going really fast or swinging weights then you risk injury and you cannot truly handle the weight your lifting. this applies to men and women. In fact all of these tips will.
TIP 3 – Lift what you can handle! – many times the ego gets the better of people. They lift more than they should and do more than they should also. Make sure you pick weights that make you work but don’t have you wobbling all over the gym trying to simply hold them! Once you can cope with a weight, your muscles are used to it, and your comfortable, then move up. You’ll surpass all the people who are choosing weights for vanity and as they get injured youll be lifting and working with the weights they first struggled with…
TIP 4 – Variety. Its essential that you choose different exercises in your program (or get me or your trainer to devise workouts that mix up exercises to stimulate muscles correctly) – thus helping you break through plateaus. Your body is designed to adapt to stimuli over time, if you mix up your exercises your body will keep being forced to really work and your results will be the type you really want.
TIP 5 – Whats right for one person is not always right for you. I see a lot of people go to gyms or start workouts and they tend to see a person doing something and simply copy. I understand if no one is around to give advice or you are new to working out that this is tempting. But understand you are capable of doing all the exercises that are out there, but that does not mean you should. Get a good trainer or one of my products or workouts at my video classroom and choose a goal, choose a path for yourself and train for YOU – you’ll follow certain exercises and systems that will take you to your goal and get results, another person will follow their own goal. You must have a plan of attack and a goal when you train or all the exercises in the world will mean nothing and be a waste if there is not a plan of attack when choosing and using exercises specifically for YOU and YOUR GOALS.

I do eat healthy – including the occasional cheat day where I eat ANYTHING I want. But recently I have been focusing on really getting a laser targeted list and regime of the best vitamins and supplements that I feel through experience, research and advice from smart nutritional experts are absolutely going to be beneficial to me and also to others who are keen to create the most healthy lifestyle possible.
I don’t like to take many pills. I do however like to add to my diet with a selection of supplements that are worthwhile.
In fact at the time of writing I take 3-4 different vitamins / supplements to assist my bosy if my diet /lifestyle does not quite give me enough of them.
I am very pleased so far with the effects / feelings / response from my body with this regime mixed with my healthy lifestyle and regular workouts.
As we’ve discussed: it is all about balance and alongside the healthy eating and fitness regime, the right supplementation – if done correctly -can only benefit you.
So the wonder drug – or ‘perfect vitamin’ I have recently started supplementing with is Vitamin D.
I’ve known its benefits for a long time and obviously a lot of us know that it is derived from sun exposure. but I am now a big fan of extra supplementation – especially if you do not live in an area where you get a lot of sun exposure daily on your skin.
* like a lot of the articles written by Dr Mercola so here below I am going to give you a link to one I recently got from him which I think perfectly clears up a lot of questions regarding this perfect vitamin. So read it and try supplementing Vitamin D into your diet. It will benefit you in more ways than you can imagine and am very happy with the results so far of adding more into my daily nutritional routine.

Hi,
I love quotes. This here is a selection i found i wanted to share to give you a pick-me-up if you feeling down or a bit frustrated…heads up! it’s all good…

Never give up on something that you can’t go a day without thinking about.
————
When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow–
You may succeed with another blow,
Success is failure turned inside out–
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit–
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.
- Edgar A. Guest
Don’t wait for time. Make it.
Don’t wait for love. Feel it.
Don’t wait for money. Earn it.
Don’t wait for the path. Find it.
Don’t wait for opportunity. Create it.
Don’t go for less. Get the best.
Don’t compare. Be unique.
Don’t fight your misfortune. Transform it.
Don’t avoid failure. Use it.
Don’t dwell on mistake. Learn from it.
Don’t back down. Go around.
Don’t close your eyes. Open your mind.
Don’t run for life. Embrace it.
